Process

Design Phase

I utilize a ton of reference and Photoshop to create the illustration. This is done before fabric sourcing, so the design evolves.

Digital Patterning

I create the pattern in Clo3D utilizing traditional patternmaking methods, body blocks, and an avatar customized to my measurements.

For this project, I wanted to test my garment construction skills. I copied a pattern from The Tailoring Book into Clo3D and resized it to half and quarter scale. I then constructed two fully lined suits with functional jetted pockets and properly scaled buttons.

As a goodbye to my four years at Ringling College of Art and Design, I began my exploration of combining my garment construction knowledge and CG modeling skills.

I developed an efficient workflow for quickly testing pattern ideas that could be exported the final patterns with minimal alterations.
